....is that they don't listen to women, even when that woman is connected to a piece of technology.
We own a Garmin and I love it. I have no problem listening to the lovely lady giving me directions and I have yet to get lost.
Big D on the other hand totally tunes her out and will either miss the turn, move into the left lane when he needs to be in the right lane or critique her navigational skills.
Granted there are times when one wonders where the Garmin is taking you but you always get to your final destination. Unless you live at a certain address in NC which doesn't seem to exist. But barring that little inconvenience the lovely voice tells you how far you have to drive before your next turn, right, left and onto what road. Then you get reminded a couple of miles before the turn. Again when you get down to under a mile and then to feet. By this time one should be in the correct lane and ready to turn and continue on your merry way. Unless your a man. Men don't seem to hear a woman's voice until she has spoken for the third time. With the Garmin that third time may be to late to take the next turn correctly.
Why would the makers of technology such as this give it a woman's voice? Especially if men were the ones to create this item. They should know better than that. Experience at home should have taught them that it should have been a male voice not female.
Perhaps they were thinking that they would listen to a disembodied, sexy(?) female voice not connected to their wife.
Again, WHAT were they thinking!!

What is it with North Carolina and GPS'? Chris didn't listen to ours the entire trip until we were driving on the beach on the way to the rental house and it said turn left now. Left now was right into a sand dune...that took an hour to dig out of.
Our GPS has a male voice...but it doesn't know that the Wilson Bridge exists!
Cute post, and just a bit of trivia . . . next time you call the appointment line and hear the male voice (after the woman's voice) the male voice is my next door neighbor . . . seriously! He's in communications at the base. It's the first time I've been able to connect a voice to a face on a recording like that.
